KALLIL AMPALAM - in memory of the Jaina eradication

Kallil Ampalam ( a cave temple surrounded by rocks ) is situated at Methala on the Perumpaavoor - Moovaattupuzha road in Ernakulam district of Kerala , India.Once , according to the researchers , this was a tomb of the Jainas and was extorted by the Brahmins during their revival movement led by Shankaraachaarya. Owned by a Pishaaraty family ,now this is a protected monument under the control of the Kerala State Archeology Department.
